Harvest of Talents Charity Bicycle Ride
Come join Chillicothe Christian Church (CCC) for the Third Annual Harvest of Talents (H.O.T.) Charity Bicycle Ride for the world’s hungry people. You can be among friends of similar cycling interests and talents – and all who are willing and interested to provide support to the world’s hungry people. 100% of the proceeds from the ride benefit International Disaster Emergency Service in its effort to feed the world’s hungry.
Route: The ride will visit communities near Chillicothe, IL on flat to slightly rolling terrain. One moderate climb (Hallock Hallow Rd.) is included in all routes. Routes of 15, 35 and 62 miles (100 km) are available.
Fee: The $20 before September 30, $25 October 1st and after.
Food: Food is provided along the ride at stops in Princeville and Wyoming with lunch upon returning.
Who rides?: Either as individuals or in groups, people of all ages, abilities and bike styles are invited. Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Directions: Ride departs from Chillicothe Christian Church, 510 Frances Street in Chillicothe.
From I-74 Westbound: Take exit 93 for Adams St/US-24/Jefferson Ave/IL-29 toward Downtown Peoria. Turn right at NE Adams St/IL-29/US-24, follow IL-29 18 miles north to Chillicothe.
From I-74 Eastbound: Take exit 87B to merge onto IL-6 N toward Chillicothe. Turn left at IL-29/N State Route 29, follow Route 29 into Chillicothe.
Registration: Pre-register by printing out a registration form. Day of registration is also available.
Check-in for both pre-registered riders and day-of-ride registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 8 a.m.
Those planning to ride the 62-mile route should plan to begin riding by 8:30 am. The registration fee includes a map, well-marked routes, sag vehicle support, food stops and an end-of-the-ride hot meal.
