Quick FAQs

CCC Mission/Vision

Chillicothe Christian Church (CCC) operates by our Mission (to lead people to Christ and grow together in Christlikeness) and Vision (to be a family of love and truth). CCC is committed to sharing the gospel, growing the spiritual health of the local community, and engaging in global missions.

The Community

CCC was established in 1964 in Chillicothe, IL, which is about fifteen miles north of Peoria. The population of Chillicothe is just under 6,000. According to the 2023 census, 17.6% of the population is over 65 years of age, and the median household income is $62,108. CCC includes residents of several surrounding communities in addition to Chillicothe such as Peoria, Dunlap, Rome, Princeville, Sparland, Henry, and Lacon. The Chillicothe area is known for being a generous, engaged, and close-knit community.

The Congregation

CCC is a Bible based Restoration Movement Independent Christian church. The average attendance for Sunday morning worship services is about 220+ people, including children in the nursery and PreK through middle school classes.

We offer two Sunday services: 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM. The 10:45 AM service is streamed live on YouTube. Our Youth (6th-12th grade) meet on Sunday at 6:00 PM. An Adult Sunday School is offered during the second service while small groups meet throughout the week.

Church Governance, Staffing, and Budget

The Elder Board, which currently includes six elders and the Lead Pastor, are tasked with maintaining the scriptural integrity and spiritual health of the congregation. This is carried out through policy management, vision casting, communication, and strategic planning. Our policy manual documents leadership roles and governance for CCC. In addition to our Lead Pastor, CCC employs a Director of Children’s Ministries, a Ministry Coordinator and Connections Director, and a Finance Secretary.

CCC has an engaged volunteer base. Our volunteer Leader Team manages their respective teams and meets once per month to maintain alignment. The Leader Team consists of Missions, Worship, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Property, Finance, Connections, Prayer, and Caring Ministry.

CCC is blessed by members who financially support the CCC mission/vision for kingdom advancement. Our 2025 budget is $435,000, and 11.5% of this budget goes to support mission work (locally and abroad).
